Kids Clothes Week is at its end, for me at least! The official week goes through the weekend, but since I will be attending my 20 year high school reunion (man that makes me feel old!) this weekend, my sewing is done! You can check out my projects (search for jenirodesigns) and all the other talented sewist at the Kids Clothes Week blog!
I am proud of myself that I got both of the outfits done and learned a few new things in the process! I am definitely not an expert on sewing kids clothes – but I am having fun and every outfit will make me better, right? This morning we went outside and got some awesome pictures – while having fun running around the front yard!
First up – the details on Miss O’s outfit. Flutter sleeve peasant top and lace edge gauchos – from Little Girls, Big Style by Mary Abreu. It fit her really well and she seemed cozy in it – no complaints about itching, etc. She actually wanted to keep the pants on after our photo shoot! I think I will need to make her at least one more pair for the rest of the summer! Miss O in her bug outfit!
Now to Mr. V’s outfit! The Henry Shirt and Bobby’s Bather shorts from Sewing for Boys by Shelly Figueroa & Karen LePage. The shirt is definitely big but the pattern had mentioned that it was meant to be larger to last a few seasons (with layers). The shorts are nice and long – which I love the look of, they should last as well!! V didn’t complain and happily put on the shirt – he was really into looking at the bugs on the shirt!
They were just too cute running around in their semi matching outfits! They are sort of matching because we are having a joint bug birthday party this year – and of course they needed new birthday outfits! More details on the party in about a month!!
I know a ton of pics, but they just are so cute! I can’t help it!!
