O’s Summer Wardrobe is growing!

June 20, 2014

Just in time for the first day of Summer tomorrow, I feel like I have made a major dent in my plans for O’s summer wardrobe.  I outlined my plans in THIS post and showed off the first finished piece, the Anywhere Dress from Go-To Patterns.

I did end up buying Kitschy Coo’s Skater Dress pattern and O absolutely loves it!  And I do too!  It was a super quick sew and so adorable and cozy!

Miss O actually didn’t want to take it off and ended up wearing it to bed the day I made it for her.  There are definitely plans for more of these, as I have 2 more already cut out!

I haven’t sewn a lot with knit fabric but it was really fun practicing with my new serger on these dresses.  The Peekaboo Pattern Shop’s Rio Racerback Dress took me just a few hours to finish and it really is adorable on!  O said it was another jammie dress like the skater dress.  For the next set of pictures we had to find an indoor photo studio since the weather was not cooperating!  The pictures aren’t as great as the outside ones, but I think I found my new indoor photo shoot location (my bedroom) just might need to add another light!

This dress is cute and sporty – looking forward to the warmer weather so she can wear it outside playing!

From 2 cute all knit dress, to an awesome pattern that lets you use knit and woven!  The combo options for this dress are endless especially with all of the cute printed cotton on the market.  For Craftiness is Not Optional’s Lulu Dress – I used a pink knit for the top and Heather Ross’ Briar Rose Strawberry print for the skirt.

For my skinny tall girl, I made her the 4T top with cap sleeves and used a 7 length, which might have been a tad too long.   I have another Lulu cut out but this time at the top length.

The last piece for this round is a cute pair of shorts from E&E Patterns, the Bubble Pocket Shorts.  The pockets are huge and awesome on these shorts and they are adorable on.

The construction for the shorts was on the elaborate side (read a lot of pieces) but it came together pretty quickly.  I have about 4 pairs of knit bike shorts with ruffles cut out and will be following THIS Cottage Mama tutorial to sew them up, but I might have to add a few more bubble pocket shorts to the mix.

It really is fun to see O’s closet filling up with Mommy made clothes and I think she is enjoying it too!  My next round is all cut out and ready to sew up, I will be sharing them when I get them done!
