For V’s 2nd birthday playdate, blogged about here, we invited 3 kiddos to play at the community center. Because I just can’t have a “party” without a goody bag – and because V is always carrying 2 or 3 or 4 cars around in his little hands, I decided to make each of the kids a personalized cars tote.
I bought Lighting McQueen fabric a while ago at Walmart and poor V would grab it off my shelf and bring it over to me… I guess asking Mommy to make him something with it. So I did!!
Its a small tote perfect for little hands and with plenty of room to fill with cars or whatever! On the outside I appliqued each child’s first initial and even added a ruffle to Miss P’s bag – every girl needs ruffles!!
and the back with Mommy’s logo of course!
On the inside I added 6 pockets to tuck in cars or other treasures!
of course I filled the totes with a “Cars” car, plus some treats, big washable crayons (hey they are 2!), a mini homemade cars coloring book, cars stickers and cars tattoos.
They turned out pretty adorable and should be pretty useful for the kiddos!!
I am thinking about making up a little tutorial on how to make your own little tote with pockets – so check back soon!!
