While we did have a big joint birthday party for the kiddos, blogged about here, I had to still do something special for Mr. V’s actual birth date. For Miss O we had a my little pony playdate, so for Mr. V we did a little cars playdate, which was not nearly as elaborate as his sister’s but still it was fun.
The morning of his birthday I put up a few decorations in the “Cars” theme. I stumbled upon THIS blog post from All Things G & D, a month ago and used the free printables she was offering to make this banner. I added my own touches with some Cars images I found on the internet! V noticed the “Cars” right away!
In his birthday outfit, blogged about here, we dropped big sis at preschool and then went over to our town’s community center for a playtime they call “toddler time”. You pay a few bucks a kid and can spend from 8am – noon running around the gym and playing with various push toys, ride ons, slides, balls, etc. Most kids last an hour or so, so it was a perfect place to meet up with friends for a little birthday playdate!
I made a Birthday Pit Pass for each of the kids, (tweaking a printable template from All Things G&D) – and attached it to a “Cars” ribbon lanyard. I might have to do a tutorial on the lanyard – I think I came up with a pretty cool way to attach the pass to the ribbon!
Mr. V checking out his pit pass! Cutie Miss P sporting her pit pass!
The kids ran around playing and we stopped mid way to have a birthday cupcake snack and pass out the goody bags! I made each kid a personalized car tote – detailed post to come soon! Of course I didn’t get any pics of the kids with their totes!!
J & V enjoying their cupcakes!
Only pic I got of T with his cupcake ( a little blurry)!
V doesn’t have a whole lot of friends yet – so it was so much fun that these 3 little ones could join us to play!!
I think V had a fun morning! I can’t believe he is TWO!!! Happy Birthday Vance we love you so much bubbey!
