Crafty Update – Fishy quilt

March 15, 2023

This month’s crafty update features another quilt.  I finished this one back in September for my Dad’s birthday.

My Dad has always been a sport fisherman, well, for as long as I can remember.  Now in his retirement, he tries to go fishing as often as possible.

I found this fun fishing-themed fabric online from Gossypium, a quilt shop in Issaquah, WA where we used to live.  It was just too perfect!

I used the Arrows pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew (another Washington-based quilter).

This was the first quilt I finished and quilted with my new machine – it was much easier with the larger throat space and amazing digital walking foot!

I shipped the quilt to my parent’s house in WA just in time for my Dad’s birthday – but he didn’t get it for another week or so after it got lost in the mail.  Thankfully their mail lady went above and beyond and found it delivered to the wrong address.  Phew!

He loved it!  My mom snapped a pic of him cuddled up with it watching tv.

I love how this one turned out! Thanks for following my crafty adventures this year.
