This month’s crafty update is a project I made for my husband’s birthday in January. He is a very loyal San Francisco 49ers fan and when I saw the Touchdown quilt pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew I just knew I needed to make him one in 49er colors.
I found all of the fabric online from either Joanns (49er fabric for backing) or Missouri Quilt Co. (reds, golds, blacks). It came together pretty fast. Cluck Cluck Sew patterns are so well written they are easy to follow and fun to piece together creating the football shapes. This quilt can be done in any color combo so it’s easy to customize for your favorite team.
I quilted the Touchdown quilt myself on my new machine with straight lines in between the footballs and then outlined the football shapes.
His birthday was just before the semi-finals of the playoffs in which the 49ers were playing. Sadly, they lost and didn’t make it to the Super Bowl but regardless B will always be a loyal Niner fan!
Funny face but he’s a happy Niners fan! (this was before the game)
