Daniel Tiger Birthday Party – Mixing store bought decor with custom printables!

February 11, 2019 · Leave a Comment

My nephew’s birthday is December 24th, so his birthday parties can be a bit tricky to plan. This year we did the party before Christmas and had to work around Christmas decorations up at my sister’s house. He is in love with Dan Dan (aka Daniel Tiger) so we decided to do a Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood party with a Christmas twist. Since I now live out of state and was only home for a week, and the fact that there is so much readily available for a Daniel Tiger party, I decided to mix it up and use party store bought party supplies, a few free printables found on the web, and a few pieces that I designed.

The food table backdrop was created with a party store bought banner and a custom name banner.  Add some twisted streamers behind and it turned out pretty cute.  That’s the birthday boy sneaking a pretzel!

The mini water bottles were dressed up with custom made water bottle labels.

The store bought cupcakes were dressed up with party circles turned into cupcake toppers.  I found the circles online HERE.  There are so many Daniel Tiger printables online – so there is a lot to choose from.

The rest of the space was decorated with party store bought hanging décor and tissue balls, like this Daniel Tiger head.

The Christmas twist came with the fact that the trees were up and we did a Christmas craft.  I found this coloring craft on PBS Kids.  The kiddos colored the page and then I (along with my helper (my daughter), turned them into ornaments by gluing 2 metallic cupcake wrappers together, gluing on the colored circles, hole punching a hole and stringing curling ribbon as a holder.  Cute and easy little craft.

Here is an example of the ornament – sorry the picture is so bad – its the only one I got!

The kiddos also had coloring pages to work on that I again found at PBS Kids!

And of course, you can’t have a 2 year old’s birthday party without a Pin the X game (my specialty).  I created a pin the balloon in Daniel’s Hand game!

The little ones all left with this sweet Daniel Tiger Christmas Book as their favor (sorry I forgot to snap a pic)!

I think the birthday boy had a good time!

Love you C!!  Happy Birthday!
