My good friend was having miracle identical twin baby girls and I wanted to help her make their nursery spectacular! She wanted an owl theme and I designed this sweet nursery almost 2 years ago.
We found the cutest owl fabric that was the inspiration for the room. It is prominently featured in the long curtains on the window.
The bottom section of the curtains and the crib skirt are made with a brown swiss dot fabric.
I made pink crib sheets for each crib. Note: The room was done before the twins were born but they only had one crib at the time, after the girls were born they found a matching crib but it wasn’t white, and we just never had the time to paint it to match.
The reading corner with custom crocheted blanket and flower ruffle pillow.
The changing corner with custom changing pad cover and dressed up owl lamp.
Here is a closer look at the lamp. I just added a ruffle on the top and bottom that matched the ruffle on the curtains.
But the best part of the room is the TREE! I hand drew and painted this whimsical tree on the wall of the girls’ room. The pictures really don’t do it justice. It fills the whole wall up onto the ceiling. It’s awesome!
Here is a close up of the princess owls resting in the tree. I modeled them after the owls in the fabric of the curtains.
The girls have a big brother, so I had to include him in the hollow of the tree peeking out on his little sisters.
The painted tree reaches up onto the ceiling and I made it 3D by making fabric leaves and little stuffed birds and hung them from the ceiling like they were hanging from the tree. It gave it a giant mobile feel, and the girls seem to love it!
This isn’t the best picture of the girls, but I had to get a picture of A & I in their room! Such sweetie pies! I really do love designing nurseries and am working on a baby boy one now that I will share when it’s done!
