My baby boy turns 3 in 10 days!! He loves his cars and trucks – and for his 3rd birthday party we are having a MONSTER TRUCK Party! We have had this theme in planning for a while so when my husband found a killer deal (50% off the last clearance price) on this monster truck months ago so we snatched them up to use as favors!
I figured it would be better to take the truck out of the packaging for ease of giving and in case we wanted to use the custom build a monster truck for an activity during the party! You know I love a good favor bag so I wanted to make a bag to hold all of the treasures including the monster truck!
I had this great monster truck fabric that I thought I was going to use to make Mr. V’s birthday outfit (coming up next week on the blog) that I turned into drawstring bags to hold all of the goodies!
I used THIS tutorial from Jeni Baker’s blog – In Color Order. I think this is the best way to make a lined drawstring bag I have ever seen. Jeni (yep we spell our names the same) is a quilter and with this tutorial you can tell. I think it’s ingenious!
It opens up easily and fits the monster truck pieces perfectly – with some room for a few extra goodies! I made a purple/brown version for the girls coming to the party.
It’s going to be a fun party!!
