Back to School this year is going to be very different from year’s past. Some districts are staying all virtual, some are going back full time and some are doing something in between. For the days when the kiddos will be home having a dedicated home classroom space would be beneficial for all.
So why not make your space a place you actually enjoy being in!
Last spring when we had to do virtual school we shared the dining room table with Dad while he was working remote – that turned out not to be ideal – so we moved our classroom down to the basement!
I asked the kiddos what their favorite part of their at school classrooms were and they both said quickly – wooble stools!
I jumped on Amazon to price them – wobble stools* are not cheap! So we just got one and then got an kid’s size exercise ball* for the other fun chair! The kids already decided (by themselves) that they will alternate days on the wobble stool. My Amazon affiliate links are above for easy shopping!
The other thing they liked about their school classrooms is the cozy spot to read – so I create a little reading corner!
By repurposing a lamp from another room, a crate for a book shelf, blankets they had and a few floor pillows purchased from a discount home store and we have our cozy reading corner. The colorful pennant banners are from O’s Fairy party and I think they really brighten the space. The giant coloring page was a gift from my sister to O – it’s decoration and an activity too!
For the main workspace we are using the kitchen table from our very first house (pre kids) and 2 cute bulletin boards that were not being used. To dress up the space even more, I created a cute printable banner and signs!
