Even More Quarantine Crafting!

quarantine crafting

More projects to show off! I know quarantine has been hard for so many, I feel fortunate that my kiddos (almost 11 and 9) are thriving and enjoying being home with the whole family – and I am getting projects done that I have been wanting to do!

Here are some of my recent completions. If you missed my first quarantine crafting posts – check them out HERE and HERE! I guess I should really call this quarantine gifting – since most of these are gifts for family and friends!

First up – I finished another quilt!! This one was for my Mom’s birthday at the end of June. I bought 3 jelly rolls of a cute fabric line called Glamping by Moda a long long time ago and just finally used one of them! I used this quilt pattern – Shortcake by Cluck Cluck Sew. There were a lot of pieces to cut and put together but her patterns are so easy to follow. I love how it turned out! The backing is a cute birds on birch tree print I found at fabric.com. I just machine quilted it with straight lines on my little machine, nothing fancy.

Here is a pic of the quilt on my Mom’s couch!

Next up – a blanket turned shawl! I started this blanket back in like 2012 on a road trip from Seattle, WA to Boise, ID – needless to say I didn’t get very far – and then it sat in a bag for the next 8 years! I finally finished it by adding rows to the sides to make it wider and tassels to finish it off. It’s a perfect fit for my almost 11 year old but it also makes for a cute couch decoration too – especially during the 4th of July!

I found this crochet pattern for a pocket shawl on etsy after seeing it on one of my fav crafter’s FB page, Sarah Zimmerman, and just really wanted to try it. It was different than what I am used to crocheting because I was working with a much larger hook (M) and the stitches were so airy – it took me a while to get the hang of it. I think it turned out longer than it actually was supposed to be – but still cute. I sent it to my Mother in law for her birhday in mid July!

And the last project (for this post at least) is this cute ombre blue kitty from Sarah Zimmerman’s new crochet book – Crochet Cute Critters*! I originally started crocheting (I asked my Mom to teach me) because I wanted to make toys (Amigurumi – in the yarn world). Sarah’s designs are larger which is fun and makes them super cuddly! This guy will likely go to one of my nephews for Christmas!

Thanks for letting me show off my quarantine crafting projects! Back to crafting!!
