A few weeks ago our baby boy turned 5 years old!! He is a car boy so we threw him a fun Race Car “Hot Wheels” party!
V’s favorite color is purple so the color theme for the party was mainly purple and orange. I usually like to do our home parties outside but the weather on party day forced us to change plans and move the festivities inside. Here is a look at the party decor!
I used the Hot Wheels picture from V’s room to help decorate. The buffet table in the front room held the favor buckets for the kiddos. It was dressed up with Hot Wheels fabric and the picture.
I found these cute Hot Wheels buckets at the party store and filled them with a Hot Wheels board book with wheels (Target $ spot), Car straw, bouncy ball, stickers and a new Hot Wheels car in package. I added the favor tags I designed for the party to personalize the favors.
Since we had to be inside, I took advantage of the mantel and put all of V’s photo books on display along with a fabric banner and a dressed up letter V that I made.
I created this fun paper banner using my Silhouette Cameo and We are Memory Keepers Banner punch for decoration and to announce one of the activities I had planned for the boys.
I put the printable birthday banner over the main cake and food table. The purple and orange LED lights (I found in the Halloween section) were a perfect addition to the decor.
Here is a full picture of the backdrop and food spread. It was an afternoon party so we just had themed snacks for the kiddos.
PB & J Wheels were made with the Pampered Chef Cut-N-Seal – it was perfect for a “wheel” sandwich! The food tents and party circles just add that fun party element!
These Rice Krispie Stoplights were a hit! So Yummy!
Of course we have to have “Spare Tire” donuts!
Pretzel dipsticks – pretzel rods dipped in colored chocolate.
And these fun apple cars for a healthy treat!
I think the kiddos enjoyed the snacks!
The kids table! I taped a real Hot Wheels track down the middle and put cars on it for the kids to play with – it was a hit!
The personalized coloring pages were not a hit (the boys definitely preferred to play with the cars than color) but they dressed up the table!
And finally the beverage station. Apple juice gasoline for the kiddos, and Iced Tea and Lemonade for the adults.
Dressed up water bottles too! A fun fun birthday party for V! See all of the fun and games in Part II of this awesome party!
