At the end of last year we took our 2nd family trip to Disneyland – adding on a few days in San Diego to check out LEGOLAND and the San Diego Zoo. For our first trip I made a bunch of princess dresses for O – you can see them all HERE, and some cute pants for V (I talk about those HERE). But for this trip I decided to go more casual. I found a lot of cute Disney print fabric (both knit and cotton) and used it to make up some of my favorite patterns.
Here was Miss O’s vacation wardrobe.
Pink Elsa Skater dress – pattern by Kitschy Coo. This dress is so quick to sew up and so comfy to wear!
Another Elsa dress of course, that she wore when she met Elsa! On this dress, I tried out A Sparkly Baby’s Pretty Panel Dress pattern. I love the concept and look of this dress because you can use it to highlight a knit panel, but it came out really big in the neck. I think it might have been the knit I used for the binding, so I definitely need to make this pattern again. Regardless, it was cute and comfy and Elsa liked it!
I got a few pair of pants into the mix. This cotton princess print was made into a pair of Cottage Mama Ruffle Capris from her book – Sew Classic Clothes for Girls. I love the ruffles on these pants and it has the cutest ruffle pocket on the back. I found the Princess Palace pets tshirt at the Disney store.
I used this red Mickey cotton fabric to make a Skip Along Skort by Peekaboo Pattern shop. It looks nice but I have to say honestly this isn’t my favorite pattern. I’ve made it a few times now and they just don’t come out right. I really do love the patterns that come from Peekaboo just not this one. It’s made to sit really low on the hips and I just don’t think it works for a long torso like O and I have. Lesson learned. But paired with this cute Minnie shirt from Target and some black leggings it works!
This outfit I loved on O but she actually didn’t ever wear it in Disneyland! What a shame I know!! I guess I went a bit overboard and she had too many cute clothes to wear. These are the same pants pattern as the princess pants and the shirt is a Rosalie Ruffle tee from Peekaboo without the ruffles. Instead I added ribbon the sleeves to turn it into a Snow White shirt.
Last one for O, was this Gloria Peplum shirt from Peekaboo. The colorful Mickey head fabric was so fun and I got enough of it to make shirts for the entire family. And yep I did!
Yeah we were that family! Hey I think we look awesome! We got a few nice compliments in the park and hey its Disneyland! My husband thought I was crazy but he still wore it of course! All of these patterns are from Peekaboo Pattern shop! Women’s Rainier Raglan for me, Tahoe Tee for Mr. Ro and the Grand Slam tee for V. I got my cute family picture, I’m happy! Now for V’s wardrobe.
You saw the Mickey head t-shirt for V but I just have to share another pic of my matching cuties!
V got another round of the fabulous Parsley Pants by Made by Rae in character cotton prints. This one is Marvel Superheros.
A Cars pair of course! Hi Santa Mater!
A red Mickey pair! To match his sister!
Love them!
And of course, A Star Wars pair! Paired with this R2D2 shirt from the Disney Store he is one cute droid!
Even Vader has to admit that!
I might have done a little too much but it was a lot of fun to have the excuse to make my kids so many fun clothes!! We had an amazing trip and we looked pretty cute too! Thanks for checking it out!
