This year for Halloween, the kiddos are going as their current favorite characters.
Miss O is the Princess Palace Pet Beauty and Mr V is Rubble from Paw Patrol (check out his Paw Patrol party HERE and HERE). The cool felt masks are what sparked the costume ideas (along with their love for these characters) – they are handmade but not by me, I found them in an etsy shop called A Joyful Bow.
Aren’t they so cute! Here are the details of their costumes.
For the base of the costume I made sweat pants using Peekaboo Pattern shop’s Essential Sweats pattern in a fun sparkly fleece. O loves them, she says they are so comfy. Her long sleeve shirt is also a Peekaboo Pattern – the Grand Slam tee – such an easy pattern to sew up. To really turn her into Beauty I found a pink faux fur to make a vest, paws and tail.
I made the paws following THIS tutorial I found online. They are a little hard to wear but she loves them! The vest was made following THIS tutorial. I love that the vest is a piece that she can use again after Halloween.
To complete the costume, she had to have a big fluffy tail! I drafted the tail on my own and consulted with my engineer husband on the best way to make sure it stands up correctly. I think we made it work! O helped me figure out the size of the bow, because Beauty’s bow is really large of course!
She is a cutie! Miss O as the Princess Palace Pet Beauty!
Mr. V’s costume starts with the essential sweats and grand slam shirt. I added a cute little tail into the sweats.
V also got cute paws. I used a Simplicity pattern to make the vest, yellow rip stop fabric on the outside and a plaid fleece on the inside. I printed Rubble’s construction pup logo onto printable iron on paper and made a zipper pull for the vest vs. a collar.
We added a construction hat with a Paw Patrol logo and wa-lah! Mr. V as Rubble from Paw Patrol. They both should be warm and cozy for Halloween night trick or treating!
Happy Halloween from Beauty and Rubble!!
