It’s the final day of Kid’s Clothes Week and I successfully completed all 4 outfits that I had planned for Miss O — and with this post, I have now blogged them all!  Woohoo!!  Here are links to the other outfits if you missed them!
I saved Outfit #2 for last well because I was in the knit groove mid week and didn’t want to go back to wovens yet.  This dress is adorable though!  It’s the Round Neck Ruffle Dress from The Cottage Mama’s new book – Sew Classic Clothes for Girls. I really wanted to use the pink/blue/black floral fabric in this dress, so I pulled other fabric from my stash to make the dress work.  After a consult with my Mom, I settled on the 4 fabrics and this order.  I wanted it to be a Valentine’s dress for my girl but still be able to wear it whenever (meaning not covered in hearts).
The dress came together pretty easily. I am not a huge fan of making ruffles but I do love how they look. Let me tell you, that bottom layer has a lot of ruffles, it took a while!
It twirls fabulously though!
Layered with a black long sleeve tee, it even works in the chilly weather!
It’s been a fun Kid’s Clothes Week! And it’s really made me excited to sew more for my girl, just maybe not take so many pictures!
