I can hardly believe it but I actually completed all of the projects I had on my list for our Disneyland trip! I will do a recap/follow up post with lots of pictures of the kiddos in their outfits but for now let me show you the last few things I made for the trip!
When I made V the pants with Made by Rae’s Parsley Pants pattern – see them HERE, I said that I really wanted to make him a few more pairs – so I did!
The pattern is so quick to sew and they really are cute pants! Can’t wait to get pictures of Mr. V in them!
The other project I finished were some hats for the kids. Being fair skinned babes I knew they needed something to protect their faces from the hot California sun. I had gotten the book, Oliver + S Little Things to Sew: 20 Classic Accessories and Toys for Children a long time ago and wanted to try the bucket hat pattern. The pattern was really pretty easy and I found this awesome tutorial online that eliminated the need for any hand stitching! Woohoo! I actually got the kids to model these for me!
For Mr. V, I of course had to use a car print for one side. I had this in my stash and can’t remember where I got it – but it worked perfectly and he loved it!
For the reverse side I used a green tone on tone chevron!
For Miss O, it had to be princesses! Since she will be wearing a princess dress everyday at Disneyland – (if you missed them, see them HERE and HERE) – I used a cute crown fabric, pink of course.
The reverse is a light purple, but I used pink thread so you can see the stitching on the purple side which I think is cute. She wouldn’t let me reverse the hat and get another picture of it on her, so on the wall it is!
For her hat, I increased the brim by 1-1/2″ on the suggestion of another blogger. It definitely adds more sun protection, but on O I think it might be a tad too long…. oh well, its still cute even on a grumpy girl!
Yay! I am done with (the planned) Disneyland projects and ready for our vacay!! I will post pics of all the Disneyland fun when we get back! And be sure to come back on Friday this week for an awesome tutorial and free pattern – and of course its Disney related!!
